Throghout the class..

I can’t believe this semester is almost over, it went by so fast! First starting off in your class i thought “oh this will be such a easy class no worries and barley any homework”. I must have thought wrong in a good way though. I feel like you have helped me becoe a better reader and better at doing homework and projects. I loved all the projects we did and the ones that are still to come. I didn’t really like how the class got to pick the book since i really did’t care for liar very much. But i liked how the class talked everything through about the book to help us aka me that are slow readers to catch up on what i missed. All in all i loved your class if i wouldn’t of taken it me and katie would have never of met! Which now she is one of my best friends! I liked how you had us do independent reading because i never use to do that...ever. Thanks for all the help with the main idea it helped me a little on the test i had to take. I benefit a lot from the reading classes that i take. I’m going to continue reading more and more everyday to help me become a faster reader. I loved your class and you did a great job of teaching it so well and thanks again for all your help. Maybe ill get you as a english teacher!:)

Strange Text

Free Choice: strangest part of the text. Well while i was reading Room i came across a shocking part of the text. The text said that Jack still breast feeds! I thought to myself oh my gosh that’s super strange! Usually babies stop breast feeding around age 1, so this was really shocking. I’m thinking while i read now why is he still breast feeding? If someone was to know this they might find this really really weird. I know that there in that room together all the time but i think that Ma should know not to keep breast feeding him, i mean he is five years old. i just think that this is weird and he shouldn’t be doing this. The mother should know better by now. Another strange thing about what Jack said is that when he saw the snow on the window he wanted the snow to come inside. ha. I thought that was funny and strange. I know that he doesn’t know any better but i still found that a little strange. This book has a lot of strange things going on throughout the book. But don;t get me wrong i still love this book i just found some of these things strange. 

Dear Author

Dear author, wow your book is amazing i must say but i do have a few questions for you though. The book is very interesting and i like how you have the story plot, its a very unique story. I have never read anything like this book before. Also, the book is kind of hard to read because of the way he speaks differently. I’m always having to correct his words as i read. I’m wondering why you had the boy talk like the way he does? Do you have a point to why you did this? Why did you name the book ROOM? i really do like the title is goes well with the story line. I really do like your book so far, although i’m not that far yet into it but i will be by the end of this week. I hope something exciting happens while i’m reading. I have another question for you and i was wondering why the characters are in this tiny room? Why didn’t you put them somewhere else? Sorry if i’m asking a lot of questions i’m just very interested in this book and curious to why you do the things you did with the book. It’s definitly different from all the other books i have read. I usually read relationship books so this is all new to me to have such a different kind of book. Thanks for reading my letter and i hope to hear back from you with the answers. Awesome book!

His Talking Style

Free Choice- After reading through page 45, I’m starting to love the book more and more. Its taking me awhile to get through the book since the boy talks differently. I hate how he talks because it gets confusing at times. I have to fix the words as i read and it makes it very frustrating.  RIght now where i’m at in the book is its just about them in the room and them waking up and telling about the room. They said it was the boys birthday and and the mom drew a picture of him and he said he wanted to be awake for it. He thinks that outside of that room that there in is outer space, he doesn’t know that there is life beyond those doors. That’s what makes me mad also because he doesn’t know the truth about everything and i hate how he thinks that. Besides that point i like the book i just hope maybe he will start talking better so i don’t have to fix it as i read. I think that maybe he will start talking better so i will enjoy it better! I have never read anything like this book, so i’m still getting use to it.

Why the title ROOM...

The significance of the title... When i first heard our teacher talk about this book i wondered what it was about. She said the title ROOM and i thought to myself “hmm why would i want to read a book about a room?” Well after she started to explain and talk about the book a little more it caught my interest more. I thought the book was just going to be about a random room and it would be boring just to read about a room. I started to read the inside pages telling what it is about. It was about a room but it was a different kind of room. There were people living in this room! That caught my attention fast and i wanted to start reading the book. I think that the author of this book wanted this book to have a surprising title or a twist to make you think it was just a boring room since the name of the book was ROOM. But let me tell you, this author was good at making the title. I think that she tried to make it seem boring but when you start to read the book you cant put the book down. The author was very good at creating the title of this book, very creative. It explains more than what the book is just about i think. I think the more i read the more the title will explain the book. I cant wait to read more of the book!

New Books

After finishing Liar, i wasn’t a fan of the ending. I didn’t really care for  this book anyways. No offense. I enjoyed making the project to go along with it though. I had fun picking out Micah’s life. My poster was called “I Know What I Want”. I gave her a wonderful and loving life. Because her life in the book wasn’t really that good. I’m looking forward to start my new books. I chose ROOM for my second half of the semester book. I think that i will enjoy this book a lot. I predict that this book will be suspenseful and keeping you on your toes. It sounds like a enjoyable book to read. I also chose to read The Truth About Forever for extra credit. I bought this book awhile ago and i have been wanting to read it. It is a relationship book which are my favorite. I look forward to planning my project for the book ROOM. I hope i enjoy these two books so i can want to read the book without not wanting to. It’s hard to read a book when you don’t enjoy the book. I look forward to planning out my reading schedule and to start reading my new books.

i'm a maybe for the text...

Now that we are almost done reading Liar, i’m not to sure if i like how the author wrote the book. It has a strange twist that you would never guess ever. It’s quite shocking when your reading the book and all of sudden you turn the page and it talks about how Miach is a Werewolf. Strange, right? I liked the book and the text before all of this came about that she is a Werewolf. Not sure if i do now. I can’t tell if the author is making this true, is she really a Werewolf? It confuses me a little how when your reading and it either says family history, after and before. Its makes it a little harder to follow in my eyes. Don’t get me wrong i like the book but i’m not sure if i like it now since the author is  telling us that she is a Werewolf. Also, the author is telling us that her family are Werewolves too. I’m not into fantasy books at all and after reading that she is a Werewolf not sure if i want to finish the book. I know i have to but we will see if it gets better, i sure hope it does! Anyways the text was good at first and now my thoughts about it have changed. I hope it gets better!:)
